Fall 2018 12 PAN PIPES 2018 NATIONAL CONVENTION As was reported in the Spring 2018 PAN PIPES, Ginny Johnson, former National President, and her husband, Bill, made a generous dona- tion to SAI for the retirement of the National Headquarters mortgage. At the convention in Scottsdale, they were honored for this gi with an original watercolor of National Headquarters painted by Jennifer Novak Coduto and a plaque to be hung in the board room of NH. e plaque is inscribed as follows: VIRGINIA JOHNSON BOARD ROOM Sigma Alpha Iota is deeply grateful to William Johnson and Virginia A. "Ginny" Johnson, National President 1997 – 2006, for their extraordinary commitment and support. is room, the "heart" of National Headquarters, is dedicated to their love of SAI and its ideals. e Fraternity and SAI Philanthropies, Inc. are deeply grateful to both Bill and Ginny! S igma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc. is excited to announce the remarkable success of its Pan's Cottage Campaign! During the past triennium, SAI Philanthropies, Inc. embarked on a campaign to raise $100,000 for the renovation of Pan's Cottage. e campaign marked SAI's 100 years of involvement with the MacDowell Colony that began at the 1916 Convention when Delta Chapter approached the convention body with the idea of building Pan's Cottage — our Fraternity's very first charitable endeavor. Due to the extraordinary generosity of our leadership donors, SAI chapters, and individual members, the campaign reached and surpassed its goal at the National Convention, with donations totaling over $104,000! is will provide artists with a place of solace and inspiration to create works of beauty for generations to come.
