This year the chapter provided service to their school, debuted a creative music competition, and made SAI Philanthropies, Inc. their favorite charity. One of their projects was entitled "Preview Parties" where the chapter created and hosted a series of recitals, lectures, and displays pertaining to upcoming concerts held in their School of Music. Chapter members also participated in festivities surrounding the dedication of a piano given to the university by a former student and Alpha Mu initiate. The chapter also sponsored a competition called the "Unusual Ensemble Challenge" where music students were randomly paired with composers and challenged to create new pieces of American music. In addition, the Alpha Mu chapter put on a Fall Festival, two School of Music Beaux-Arts pageants, a Jazz Café, and Province Day. Their donation to SAI Philanthropies Inc. for the past triennium totaled $5,335.44. In the words of Mary Jennings, Region 8 Regional Officer, "This chapter excels in all aspects of chapter life and is a valuable component of the university community. Their outstanding and consistent contributions to SAI Philanthropies, Inc., combined with a noteworthy creative music program make them an excellent candidate for this award."
