The concert featured chapter members performing works by American composers, including compositions by SAIs Gloria Swisher and Pauline Delmonte. Also included in the program were three world premieres by local composers. The chapter advertised the concert in local publications and invited family and friends to the musical event. While the performance was free, the chapter asked for donations at the door. They raised over $1,000 in donations, most of which were donated to SAI Philanthropies. They raised $200 through flower sales and a silent tea. Mr. Williamson matched their donation, which allowed them to purchase two violin outfits for students who could not afford to rent or purchase instruments. The students will be allowed to borrow the instruments for practice and performance. This is the fourth year of this project, and they hope to continue providing donated instruments to local public school band and orchestra programs in years to come.
