Fall 2018 52 PAN PIPES OPPORTUNITIES BOURY COLLECTION Presented at the 2018 National Convention in Scottsdale, the Robert and Angelique Boury Music collection, a collection of American musical manuscripts, is available exclusively to undergraduate and graduate Sigma Alpha Iota students for research and performance from now through July 1, 2019. Among others in the collection, original documents from Victor Herbert ("The Viceroy"), Leonard Bernstein ("I Hate Music" song cycle), George Gershwin (Piano Concerto with the unpublished original piano solo at the ending), Stephen Sondheim (original manuscript for "A Little Night Music), and Dave Brubeck (sketches for oratorio "Beloved Son"), provide an amazing opportunity for study and research. Potential uses of the material include: thesis or dissertation research on some or all of the collection; demonstration or workshop support; lecture source material; in-depth study of performance/recital literature. Dr. Robert Boury is an SAI National Arts Associate and a member of the SAI Composers Bureau. He served as one of the IAMA Composer/Judges for the SAI 100th Anniversary National Convention in 2003. An application, which requires a professor's signature, is available from SAI National Headquarters.
