34 Fall 2018 PAN PIPES 2019 SAI Annual Awards Philanthropies LY N D S E Y S WA N N Zeta Tau, University of Central Florida, Lambda C, Region VI CAREER PERFORMANCE GRANT L yndsey Swann is a soprano from Orlando, Florida. She holds her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and her Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Central Florida. She studies private voice with Professor Clara O'Brien. After graduating from UCF, Lyndsey moved to the beautiful state of North Carolina to pursue her Masters degree as a Graduate Assistant at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Under the direction of David Holley, Lyndsey performed the roles of Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and most recently Magda Sorel in The Consul (Gian-Carlo Menotti). In addition, she performed the role of Madame Lidoine in The Dialogues of the Carmelites by Poulenc also with UNCG Opera Theater. In December of 2017, Lyndsey reprised her role as The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Touching Humanity Inc. Later that year, Lyndsey joined Musiktheater Bavaria for a second time on a full tuition scholarship in the beautiful town of Oberaudorf, Bavaria. Upon her return to the States, she won Second Place in the Rosen- Schaffel Young Artist Competition. Since the beginning of 2018, she has placed second in the Heafner-Williams Vocal Competition and became a Regional Finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions - Gulf Coast Region. Lyndsey returned to her home state in June of 2018 to perform the title role in Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos with Miami Summer Music Festival. She joined Greensboro Opera in the Spring of 2019 to sing the role of The Mother in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.
