46 Fall 2018 PAN PIPES 2019 SAI Annual Awards Philanthropies A SPEN MUSIC FE STIVAL NATIONAL VOCAL SCHOL ARSHIP Natalie Sheppard Eta-Iota, University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, Sigma A, Region VII CHAUTAUQUA SCHOOL S OF FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS Matthew Cairns received a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from the University of Toronto, studying with Dr. Darryl Edwards. As a concert soloist, he has performed with the Niagara Symphony Orchestra and will perform with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in a concert as the winner of the 2018 Sigma Alpha Iota Competition. Marie Engle completed her graduate studies at the Juilliard School, studying with Marlena Malas, and undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. She made her Carnegie Hall Debut in 2019 and premiered on WQXR's midday masterpieces in 2018. She made her debut with the Juilliard Opera singing Ramiro in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera. Luke Sutliff is a fourth-year undergraduate at Juilliard studying with Sanford Sylvan. He has appeared as Belcore in the Chautauqua Institution's production of L'elisir d'amore and also covered the role of Escamillo in CHQ's production of Carmen. E A STERN MUSIC FE STIVAL Bianca Pratte Xi, Lawrence University, Epsilon A, III Bianca Pratte is a senior at Lawrence University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance with a minor in Music Theory. An active member of SAI's Xi Chapter, Bianca served as Editor on the Executive Board for the 2018-2019 year. Bianca was also the 2015 Wisconsin Flute Festival Collegiate Competition Winner, the 2015 NFA Collegiate Flute Choir Winner, the 2016 MTNA Young Artist Woodwind Competition Winner, and the 2018 Summer Flute Institute at MSU Denver Young Artist Competition Winner. OPERA IN THE OZ ARK S AT INSPIRATION POINT Sara Kennedy Iota Theta, University of North Texas, Kappa B, Region II Sara Kennedy, a soprano and initiate of Iota Theta Chapter, received her BM in Choral Music Education and MM in Vocal Performance from University of North Texas (UNT). She will pursue a Graduate Artist Certificate in Opera beginning this fall at UNT. Sara has studied voice with Molly Fillmore, Katie Jo Ross, and Bruce Douglas. Her roles have included Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music, Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical, and the Baker's Wife Into the Woods.
