As a song pianist, Maggie has performed in festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and School, the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS), Songfest, Source Song Festival, and the Deutsche Liedakademie in Trossingen, Germany. She has performed in master classes for Julius Drake, Graham Johnson, Martin Katz, Alan Smith, and others. Maggie was an apprentice vocal coach/ pianist with Classical Singing and New York. As a rehearsal pianist for operatic and musical productions, Maggie has played Puccini's La Bohème with Boulder Opera Company, Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with the Vanderbilt Opera Theater, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice with the Eastman Opera Theater, among others. She was a Professional Fellow for the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and Classic Lyric Arts Italy. In the world of new music, Maggie has played for composers including Edie Hill, Libby Larsen, and John Musto. She also enjoys the intersection of words and music in original poetry writing, which has been set by composers for musical commissions. Maggie's various accolades include awards for both vocal collaboration and piano pedagogy. In 2021, she was the recipient of the Virginia Allison Collaborative Award from the National Federation of Music Clubs as well as this Career Performance Grant. In 2020, Maggie started the podcast "How It's Musically Made" with a grant from the Paul R. Judy Center for Innovation and Research at the Eastman School of Music. Maggie received her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, having studied with Jean Barr, held graduate assistantships in Studio Accompanying and Opera Accompanying, as well as the Ruth and Arno Drucker Scholarship and the Jean Barr Scholarship Awards. Maggie graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where she studied with Amy Dorfman and was awarded the Michaelson Collaborative Arts Award and the Achievement in Teaching Award for Piano Pedagogy. She is an initiate of Iota Phi Chapter at Vanderbilt University and received the Sword of Honor.
