2022 Natial Cvention
A
third generation SAI, Dr. Leslie Odom Miller completed her third consecutive term as National
President at the 50th National Convention. She previously served the Fraternity as NVP,
Alumnae Chapters for two terms (2006-2012); NVP, Collegiate Chapters for one term (1997-
2000); as Director of the SAI Listserv; and as Lambda B Province Officer. She is Associate Professor
of Oboe and Music Theory and the Graduate Coordinator for the School of Music at the University
of Florida, as well as principal oboist for the Gainesville Orchestra. To celebrate and honor her many
years of dedication to SAI, the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter commissioned a piece for oboe, Songs,
by composer and SAI National Arts Associate Dr. Nansi Carroll. The work was performed at the closing
session of the convention by oboist Alicia Chapman and pianist Maria Menendez.
