ccordionist Mary Ann Covone, a member of the
Oak Park Alumnae Chapter and President of the
Accordionists & Teachers Guild International
(ATG), gave an outstanding performance
during the Welcome Luncheon. She showcased the diverse
nature and repertoire of the instrument with four unique
pieces: Tango Abstraktigo by Adolf Götz; Ave Maria by Astor
Piazzolla; and two works by SAI Karen Fremar — Nocturne (for
Bass Accordion) and Introduction and Allegro for Accordion and
Synthesized Tape.
