D ear Readers, On June 12th members of Sigma Alpha Iota in the US and abroad celebrated the 120th Anniversary of the founding of our organization — some with festive luncheons, some with somber ceremony, and others, like me, with a simple social media post (and perhaps a solo rendition of the SAI Chorale) in honor of the day. This issue of PAN PIPES gives a nod to that inspiring milestone, with an update from Tracey Wygal Withrow, Chairman of SAI Philanthropies, Inc., about the 120th Birthday Bash Campaign, as well as a brief recap of our Fraternity's history. It was no easy task to go through our history book—Sigma Alpha Iota, A History (1903-2003) by K Maria Stolba—and decide on a few key items for that timeline's two pages. I know there are many other firsts that will need to be added to a future history book for 2004 and beyond! This issue also highlights a few ways that SAI Philanthropies, Inc. makes an impact, with an update on People-to-People projects and reports by past grant recipients. Finally, Jayne Hanlin takes us along on two of her wonderful musical trips, one in Florida and one in Germany. Our next issue will include the full report of SAI's 2023 National Awards, Grants, and Scholarship recipients, as well as a number of other musical articles by our members.
