HANA BELOGLAVEC Dr. Hana Beloglavec was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Sigma Phi Chapter at Louisiana State University in April. Dr. Beloglavec is a trombonist and pedagogue currently serving as Assistant Professor of Trombone at Louisiana State University. She has a dynamic international career performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician. Beloglavec currently performs as a substitute trombonist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. In summer of 2019 she performed as a substitute for the Armenian National Philharmonic's production of Verdi's Otello. She has also performed as a substitute trombonist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under conductors Charles Dutoit, Sir Mark Elder, Ludovic Morlot, and Esa-Pekka Salonen, as well as the Chicago-based early-music ensemble Music of the Baroque under Jane Glover and Nicholas Kraemer. Beloglavec also performed as a member of the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria. In March 2020, Beloglavec performed the Lars-Erik Larsson Trombone Concertino with the U.S. Army Orchestra as a guest artist of the American Trombone Workshop. As a soloist, she has been interested in pieces for loop pedal and trombone and has commissioned two pieces: Chemical Reaction by Marc Mellits, and Give and Take by Molly Joyce. She was also an integral member of one of the first brass quintets comprised solely of women musicians, Seraph Brass, from 2017-2020. With Seraph, she was a guest artist at the 2019 Busan Maru International Music Festival in South Korea, the 2017 and 2018 Lieksa Brass Weeks in Finland, and the 2019 Artosphere Music Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Dr. Beloglavec received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Northwestern University, where she studied with Professors Michael Mulcahy, Douglas Wright, Timothy Higgins, Randall Hawes, and Christopher Davis. She completed her Master of Music degree at Yale University and her Bachelor of Music degree at Western Michigan University, where she studied with Professor Scott Hartman and Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger, respectively. In 2019 she was awarded the Early Career Award from Western Michigan University's College of Fine Arts. She is a Shires Artist and an Ultimate Brass Artist. DR. TINA DIMEGLIO Dr. Tina DiMeglio was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Delta Chi Chapter at the University of South Florida (USF) in March Dr. DiMeglio began her work at USF in 2021 and currently holds the position of Associate Director of Bands, where she oversees the USF Symphonic Band and serves as Director of Admissions. She also teaches classes in wind techniques, music educations, and conducting. Tina DiMeglio earned a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree from the University of Miami, where she studied Instrumental Conducting with Dr. Robert Carnochan. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Wind Conducting from West Chester University, where she studied with Dr. Andrew Yozviak, and a bachelor's degree in music education, clarinet concentration, from Temple University's Boyer College of Music, where she studied clarinet with Paul Demers of the Philadelphia Orchestra. While at Temple University, Dr. DiMeglio served as the President of CMENC Chapter 51 and was awarded the PMEA Award for Excellence in Service. She was a clarinetist with the Temple University Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Orchestra, and served three years as the drum major of the Temple University Diamond Marching Band. Dr. DiMeglio graduated Magna Cum Laude, was a member of the academic honors program, and received both the Diamond Key Band Award and the Emily and Arthur Crosby Award upon graduation. Dr. Tina DiMeglio is a highly decorated conductor, earning several awards and grants from conducting competitions. Most notably, Dr. DiMeglio won first place in the Premio Frederick Fennell Conducting Competition in Modica, Italy in November 2021. She was a Conducting Fellow in the 2019 Midwest Clinic Reynolds Conducting Institute, and was also a recipient of the 2019 CBDNA Mike Moss Diversity Conducting Fellowship Study Grant. She also dedicates her time to organizations that further women in music, such as "Girls Who Conduct" whose mission statement is to "empower and encourage the upcoming generation of women, women-identifying, and non-binary conductors by providing a program for training, mentorship, and camaraderie in order to foster diversity and inclusion in classical music." Dr. DiMeglio's contributions to the world of music are vast and continuing, and her dedication to diversity and inclusion in music is inspiring. DR. GARY P. GILROY Dr. Gary P. Gilroy was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Kappa Psi Chapter at California State University, Fresno, in April Dr. Gilroy has dedicated more than 40 years to music education with distinction and enthusiasm.
