FALL 2022 28 Fall 2023 28 Fratnity Awar 2 0 2 3 S I G M A A L P H A I O T A NATIONAL OUTSTANDING COLLEGIATE ADVISOR AWARD The Outstanding Advisor Award goes to a collegiate advisor based on engagement, support, and dedication to the chapter and the Fraternity. This year's National Outstanding Advisor Award goes to Mrs. Brina Bourliea Faciane, faculty and financial advisor for Mu Rho Chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University. Mrs. Faciane has promoted change and improvement within the chapter by introducing new ideas for chapter activities and recommending the chapter to help with service projects within and outside Southeastern's music department. She has continued to support the chapter by promoting events and attending the events the chapter hosts. She has been a keynote speaker at Province Days and is always willing to step in and help the Mu Rho Chapter. Every week, Mrs. Faciane meets with the chapter treasurer and discusses the chapter's finances. As a result, the chapter's finances have increased and the chapter has improved their bookkeeping systems. She has also stepped in to help the chapter navigate difficult situations. Through this work, she has helped the chapter lay a foundation for steps to problem solving which should prove to be beneficial moving forward. Brina Bourliea Faciane holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Arizona State University. She has performed in the United States, Canada, Italy, Cyprus, France, and Croatia. She was honored with distinguished membership in Sigma Alpha Iota as a National Arts Associate in 2019. She currently serves as a mentor for the Committee on Gender Equality of the North American Saxophone Alliance.
