Serving as an instrumental music teacher for twenty- seven years in Indiana, her last seventeen were spent as Director of Instrumental Music and Department Chair for Plymouth Community Schools, Plymouth, Indiana. Dr. Wagoner has presented at regional, state, and national stages on music genre recognition, collaborative research design, and professional music teacher identity. She is active as a guest conductor and adjudicator in North Carolina and Indiana. Wagoner is a member of MENC, Society for Music Teacher Education, Instrumental Music Teacher Educators, Society for Music Perception and Cognition, and North Carolina Music Educators Association. She is also a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and Phi Beta Mu. In moments of challenge and uncertainty, Dr. Wagoner has consistently demonstrated her dedication and resourcefulness to the Beta Psi chapter. When their treasurer unexpectedly resigned during the spring 2024 semester, Dr. Wagoner swiftly stepped in to facilitate a seamless transition, ensuring chapter operations remained as uninterrupted as possible. Her proactive approach and commitment to excellence have truly set a standard for leadership within the fraternity. Despite her demanding schedule, Dr. Wagoner has consistently prioritized the needs of the chapter, providing them with invaluable guidance and support. Whether it be through constructive feedback during meetings or one-on-one discussions about chapter improvement initiatives, she has always gone above and beyond to ensure that Beta Psi thrives. Dr. Wagoner's unwavering dedication to fostering sisterhood and promoting musical excellence within the fraternity exemplifies the core values of Sigma Alpha Iota. Her kindness, professionalism, and tireless efforts have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in Beta Psi's success.
