Greetings, sisterhood! It's never easy to begin a new role, especially when its predecessor set such a high standard of excellence. I am thrilled to begin my journey as PAN PIPES Editor, and express the deepest gratitude to Christine Bruns for her nine years in this position. May I be a worthy successor! Before I get into the excitement of my first issue, introductions are in order: I am an initiate of the Sigma Omega chapter at Susquehanna University, where I received my Bachelor's in Creative Writing. I was a member of the symphonic and stadium bands, in addition to private flute lessons. Sigma Alpha Iota was the apex of college life, and I was excited to learn it didn't end at graduation—later, in grad school, I affiliated with the New York Alumnae Chapter immediately. The culture shock of moving from rural Pennsylvania to Manhattan was a lot less stressful with my sisters nearby. I was also an affiliate of the Central New Jersey Alumnae Chapter, and most recently served as Philanthropies Grant Director for the International Study Grant for Graduate Students. I hold a Master's in Publishing from Pace University, and work in Book Production. My job is to "get the books printed," as I like to say. I will always talk books! I've been a reader as long as I've been a musician, and can't wait to bring these lifelong joys into the publication of PAN PIPES. And what an issue to start with! The annual awards issue showcases the breadth of our members' devotions and talents, in the many ways we express the meaning of music. Their recognition and stories prove how wonderfully diverse we are, from expanding music education programs to performances around the world. I hope they inspire you and your chapters to continue spreading the joy of music and supporting our communities — and to apply for a grant or scholarship in the upcoming year, too. National Convention is just around the corner as well! Don't miss the latest updates on pages 6-7, and a sneak peak on what to expect. I hope to see many of you there with us. If you have an idea for a future article, or want to reach out and say hi, get in touch! I'm found at SAIPanPipesEditor@ gmail.com, and I would love to hear from you. I look forward to serving as PAN PIPES Editor for years to come. Fraternally, Angela C.
