It will allow me to have access to multiple resources, professional organizations, and travel to conferences that will perfect my cra . I am humbled and honored by this recognition am and excited to continue my participation in SAI and ECU and beyond. Sincerely, Caroline Steinert W ith thanks to the Professional Development Grant, I had the opportunity to attend the 2023 Bi-Annual Conference of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians in Philadelphia, PA from July 4–7, 2023. The following highlights of this amazing conference tell of the importance of continuing education opportunities for all — especially church musicians! • Reading sessions for new music offered by various publishers • Worship every day to feed the soul and offer ideas to take home • Engaging plenary sessions discussing the theme of the conference "What Wondrous Love." Each lecture dealt with the words of the theme: "What" on day 1; "wonderous/wonder" on day 2, and "love" on day 3. • Visits to several Philadelphia area churches with beautiful worship spaces • Workshops on a variety of relevant topics. I attended several reading sessions of new keyboard music for worship (piano and organ), looking for new repertoire to use in worship • A visit to the Downtown Episcopal Cathedral for dinner and a concert presented by Choral Arts Philadelphia • Connecting with friends and colleagues from all over the country! I enjoyed networking with fellow musicians and gathering information and ideas to help me in my music ministry at church. Summer is a great time for refreshment and renewal! I have spread the word about the Professional Development Grant in hopes that others can benefit from this wonderful opportunity. — Barbara Larson Volusia County Alumnae, Lambda C, Region VI From left, Brian Larson, Barbara Larson, Dr. Wayne Wold, Rev.
