6 Spring 2025 • sai-national.org Natial Cvention S igma Alpha Iota is pleased to announce Ruth Sieber Johnson as Convention Honoree and keynote speaker at the 2025 National Convention Welcome Luncheon. She is now Executive Director Emerita, having served the Fraternity as Executive Director for over thirty-two years. Ruth's SAI journey began in 1982 at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, where she received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (magna cum laude). There, she was an initiate of Epsilon Tau, the first pledge class of the reactivated chapter. She served the chapter as Chaplain (now called VPR), then later Editor and Membership Advisor the year after graduation. She also attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, and did graduate work at UALR in teaching the gifted and talented. She received a number of awards, including the University of Arkansas' Music Department Faculty Award for Outstanding Musicianship (1982); the SAI scholastic award from Epsilon Tau (1983); and was a finalist in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Artist Awards (1984).
