D ear Readers, The months leading up to National Convention are always a busy time for the Fraternity. Many of us are finalizing travel plans, coordinating meet-ups with friends we haven't seen in ages, or adding to our personal Phlea-Phlam funds (or... phunds?). If you haven't registered for Convention yet, it's not too late! This issue shares more of the events happening during Convention, including a preview of a variety of workshops. There are learning opportunities for everyone, from chapter fundraising to career development. I will personally attend as many as possible, so you'll certainly find me there furiously taking notes. We also highlight our featured performer at the Philanthropies Benefit Concert: Rachel Barton Pine, SAI Honorary Member. Her biography says it best: "[she] thrills international audiences with her dazzling technique, lustrous tone, and emotional honesty." I can already feel the emotion that will course through an audience of fellow SAIs! This issue also has a strong focus on Music Education, a subject personal for us all in different ways—from learning a different genre to sharing the beauty of the world through music. Speaking of sharing music, are you a recording artist? Music reviewer Rebekah Strain extends a formal call for music submissions from Sigma Alpha Iota members. See page 26 on details how to submit your album for review in PAN PIPES! As I round out my first year of Editor, I extend gratitude to everyone who has traversed this new journey with me. I'm joyous over every compliment, whether via email or social media, and love hearing your article proposals and ideas. Keep them coming! If you or your chapter has a story to share, share it with PAN PIPES. Until then, I hope to see many of you at National Convention in July! Roses, Angela C.
