sai-national.org • Summer 2025 23 Koh Koh Dubay Dubay Spencer Domer Spencer Domer was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Iota Chi Chapter at Ball State University in April. Domer serves as Graduate Assistant in the vocal departments for the Ball State University School of Music. There, he is pursuing a Double Masters in Choral Conducting and Voice Performance. As a singer, Domer is heavily involved with several choirs at the university and in the Opera Theater. He has been fortunate to perform in over twenty operas in Leading, Comprimario, and Ensembles roles at the collegiate and professional levels. He has sung as a chorister with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Five Cities Baroque Festival, and in-residency at St. Albans Cathedral in England. Domer has served as an Assistant Conductor on numerous operas including Britten's Albert Herring and Puccini's Suor Angelica, and served as a Conducting Fellow with the Chicago Summer Opera. He is the Founding Artistic Director of the Riverbend Youth Chorale, a nonprofit choral program for underprivileged youth in the Illinois Riverbend. He also serves as Assistant Choral Director at High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie, Indiana. Outside of performance, Domer is an avid scholar of Benjamin Britten's repertoire and other twentieth-century English composers. Domer earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Millikin University with a minor in applied ethics and philosophy. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Delta Sigma Phi. Daniel Dubay Daniel Dubay was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Delta Chi Chapter at the University of South Florida in April. Dubay serves as Band Director for Blake High School of the Performing Arts in Tampa, Florida. With extensive knowledge of cultivating a productive and inspiring band room, he is skilled in leading marching, orchestral, and concert bands. He is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association and Florida Music Educators Association, where he has judged many different bands and presents at multiple conventions. He has conducted honor bands around the world, and was a guest clinician at the University of South Carolina Honor Band Festival. Dubay is recipient of the Jack Crew Award in 2024 and was twice awarded Teacher of the Year. He has received the Otto J. Kraushaar Award multiple times, an award presented to band programs in Florida that have earned straight superior ratings at all Florida Band Association events during a single school year. Dubay also served as the University of South Florida's interim Concert Band Director twice in 2024. He earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of South Florida. Cary Koh Cary Koh was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the San Francisco Peninsula Alumnae Chapter in May. An accomplished violinist and conductor, Koh has been involved with music since earning his undergraduate degree in 1993. He was a Core Member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, performing in major venues throughout the world. He served as concertmaster for Shorenstein Hays-Nederlander (now BroadwaySF) in San Francisco, California. There, he performed in over fifteen Broadway productions, including The Lion King, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, and the world premiere of Legally Blonde. He earned special praise for his work on Wicked, where he conducted over twenty-five shows after memorizing the score and learning all cues in only two weeks. He also served as Concertmaster for the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco Lyric Opera, Pocket Opera, and DiCapo Opera. Koh has also performed with the San Francisco Peninsula Alumnae Chapter numerous times for SAI musicales. He is First Vice President, Senior Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and has shown his dedication to public service by chairing the Board of Trustees of the Crowden Music Center in Berkeley and serving as president of the Rotary Club of Burlingame. Koh continues his music career as a recording collaborator. He has collaborated and performed with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and with recording artists such as Jay-Z and Dionne Warwick. He has recorded film and video game soundtracks at Skywalker Sound and Fantasy Studios, working on such titles as Presto (animated Pixar short), Marie Antoinette, Zodiac, The Simpsons Game, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Koh earned a Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a recipient of the Hertz Traveling Fellowship, where he studied in London. Matthew Martinez Matthew Martinez was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter in April. Martinez is Director of the Long Beach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, a local semiprofessional group. When the previous director went on leave just before the COVID-19 shutdowns, Martinez directed the musicians in Zoom rehearsals and produced a virtual concert by joining all the voices in an online performance. He previously served as Music Director at Mesa Verde United Methodist Church in Costa Mesa, California, and was Domer Domer Distinguished Members Martinez Martinez
