Fraternity Awards Fraternity Awards 2 2 PAN PIPES FALL 2026 2026 SAI 14 NATIONAL COLLEGIATE LEADERSHIP AWARD Emily Paul University of Northern Iowa, Alpha Upsilon, Xi B, Region III Emily Paul exemplifies exceptional scholarship, leadership, service, and musicianship. Throughout her collegiate membership, Emily has served Alpha Upsilon as President, Treasurer, and Editor, in addition to chairing the Archives, Publicity, Fundraising, and Receptions Committees. Her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening and revitalizing the chapter following the challenges of the post-pandemic years. As President, Emily approached chapter leadership with intentionality and vision. She met individually with officers to establish goals and strategically plan for the year, worked to reinstate the Intercollegiate Greek Organization, and helped organize a successful Province Day. As Treasurer, she secured unprecedented funding for the chapter through student government while establishing meticulous financial practices and transparent communication. She also organized record-breaking fundraisers to benefit SAI Philanthropies, Inc.; revitalized the chapter's recital reception program; strengthened chapter communications through social media, newsletters, and website updates; and preserved Alpha Upsilon's history through her archival work. Emily has remained an active musician in SAI through chapter musicales, sister recitals, and community outreach performances. In 2025, her participation as a performer at the 51st National Convention demonstrates her commitment to the Fraternity beyond the local chapter. Emily's leadership extends throughout the University of Northern Iowa community. She founded and served as President of the UNI Flute Choir, UNI Chamber Music Society, and School of Music Student Support Team. She has also served on the UNI School of Music Advisory Board and Dean's Advisory Council, represented the School of Music as a student ambassador, and served as a Student Government Senator and member of the Student Organization and Finance Committee. Her involvement has also included the President's Council for Inclusion, Transformative Social Justice, and Advocacy, and numerous university ensembles and chamber groups. While maintaining this extraordinary level of leadership and service, Emily has earned a 3.95 GPA while pursuing dual degrees in Instrumental Music Performance and Performing Arts Management, along with minors in Psychology and Women's & Gender Studies. Her academic, musical, and leadership accomplishments have earned her numerous distinctions, including recognition as a UNI Presser Scholar, UNI Student Leadership Award recipient, Panther Impact Award recipient, UNI Lux Service Award finalist, UNI Concert Competition winner, and recipient of numerous university scholarships and honors. Through her vision, initiative, collaborative leadership, and commitment to leaving organizations stronger than she found them, Emily has made a lasting impact on Alpha Upsilon Chapter.
