Since her initiation in 1979 (Sigma Sigma Chapter), Gayle has made excellence in leadership and mentorship her trademark. Within the Minneapolis-St. Paul Alumnae Chapter, she has served as Historian, VP-Membership, Sergeant-at-Arms, and President, making nearly a decade of leadership. Within the music community, Gayle's notable service includes, but is not limited to, serving on the National Advisory Council of Chanticleer, a male vocal ensemble based in San Francisco; serving as President of several philanthropic organizations; Managing Director of Classical Music Programming and Partnerships for American Public Media Minnesota; and Executive Director of the Dale Warland Singers, Inc. She recently accepted the role of Director for SAI Philanthropies, Inc.'s new grant, Community Arts Grant for 501c3 Organizations. Gayle is credited with encouraging members to attend and financially support chapter programs as well as performances and concerts outside of the chapter. Gayle has been, and is, a visible fixture in the music community as a leader, supporter, and audience member. Gayle is a recipient of the Sword of Honor, the Rose of Honor, and most recently the Diamond Sword of Honor.
