A Word from the National President I Dear Members of Sigma Alpha Iota, n celebrating the "Healing Power of Music," our theme for our 46th National Convention, we have provided a pictorial gallery in an effort to share the excitement of our time together as a sisterhood this past August. My thanks to Gregory Dickens (SAI Publications Manager and Art Director) and Roger Nelson (Friend of the Arts) for sharing their pictures of this special event. The beginning of each triennium brings about a number of transitions for SAI. We have new Province Officers who are starting their work with our Collegiate and Alumnae Chapters. We have new Regional Officers who are guiding their Province Officers to learning procedures and policies, as well as new Fraternity and Philanthropies Directors, Philanthropies Board, and National Executive Board members who are quickly becoming acclimated to their new positions and responsibilities as well as assisting with training of incoming leaders. National Headquarters is doing an amazing job of smoothing these changes by providing training, supplies, and support so that our fraternity can continue the important work of furthering the cause of music. To guide us in our work for the triennium, we also have new National Objectives. Each of us has a responsibility to reflect on these objectives, as individual members, as chapters, and as a sisterhood. I challenge each of you to review these objectives monthly and determine how to achieve them. In finding One Tunnel Road Asheville, NC 28805 ( new avenues to fulfill these National Objectives, we can make a difference in our communities and our country. We are also launching our FrEd Fun-damentals which was introduced at National Convention. Deborah Volker, National Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Education, is presenting a monthly presentation on special topics that may be used in chapter gatherings as well as for personal education. These presentations are available from Province Officers and on the National Website. October's topic was "Ritual at the Official Visit." November's topic is SAI's Incorporation Day (December 15th), a celebration of the day SAI was incorporated as a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Michigan. As we come closer to the Holiday Season and enjoy time with our family, friends, and sisters, music becomes an essential part of celebrations and festivities.  My best wishes to all of you for a peaceful and music-filled Holiday Season!
