The workers used their logistical skills to create an efficient system of unloading, sorting, and re-shelving the many boxes of music parts. This project also called for considerable muscle. The Kappa sisters and friends worked doggedly for more than five hours, unloading approximately seven storage pallets, each one containing about 300 boxes of scores and parts. The workers only took one short break for refreshment and were reluctantly pried away from their work at the end of the day, and the end of the available material to unpack. Despite a few aching muscles, the afternoon was permeated by camaraderie and the sense of a job worth doing and well done. With the help of the Kappa chapter and friends, the Music Library of the Lincoln Public School system is now back in business, and being used by teachers and students, including some SAI student-teachers!
