Nominating and Electing Officers at the 2012 National Convention The Healing Power of Music INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FRATERNITY In accordance with regulations of the National Bylaws, the Sigma Alpha Iota National Executive Board announces the appointment of Linda McAlpin as Chairman of the Nominating Committee. She is a Delta Alpha initiate and currently affiliated with the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter. Below are the deadlines that must be met in order to complete the nominating process: INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FRATERNITY 46 th National Convention "The Healing Power of Music" SEPTEMBER National Headquarters sends out a mailing to all incumbents asking who will run again. August 2 - 6, 2012 OCTOBER The Chairmen of the Nominating Committee is announced in Pan Pipes. At the convention, nominations will still be taken from the floor, and the election procedures will follow the National Bylaws. — National Executive Board Register online Now at sai-national.org! was given in February 2008 at Northwestern University by James Pellerite, former principal flutist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Heins's compositional output includes works for symphonic band and orchestra, as well as numerous solo piano works, chamber music, and concertos. Heins received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition from the University of Montana and a Master of Music Degree in Composition and Performance from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He studied composition with fellow SAI Composer Bureau members Cecil Effinger, Karel Husa, and Donald O. Johnston. Heins has taught at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. He served as composer, arranger, pianist and clarinetist in the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific Northwest. He was initiated as a National Arts Associate by the Denver Alumnae Chapter in 1992. He was chosen to be the 2001-2002 MTNA Commissioned Composer for the State of Colorado, and was the guest composer, lecturer and performer at the 2007 University of Montana Composer's Showcase. Heins's discography includes numerous works recorded on CD; his compositions have also been published by Southern Music, KJOS Music and Ars Nova Music.
