SIGMA A S PIES, INC P . 4 During the past two summers, Kaitlin has served as Assistant Percussion Manager with the Interlochen Arts Camp, where her duties have included coordinating and allocating all percussion instruments on the Interlochen campus and creating schedules for the transportation of equipment. She also has assisted in performances with the top orchestra and wind ensemble at Interlochen, sometime on short notice. Kaitlin joined Beta Epsilon chapter during the spring of her sophomore year. During her junior year, she served on a number of committees. This year, she is serving as Sergeant-at-Arms for her chapter, plus she is hoping to share some of many ideas on fundraising and organization she learned during her Kennedy Center internship. Kaitlin's career goal is to work in orchestra management, with the hope of eventually managing a respected orchestra in the United States. During her time in the DeVos Institute Internship program, Kaitlin took the opportunity to ask individuals in leadership positions at the Kennedy Center, "What do you wish you had known when you were my age?" Her favorite answer was that given by the Stage Manager of the NSO: "Remember, you are in the entertainment business; love every moment." She will graduate in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Voice with a Double Emphasis in Performance and Music Business. During the 2010-2011 school year, Emily served as the Vice President, Membership for her chapter and she feels extremely honored and excited to begin her term as President of the Epsilon Lambda chapter for the 2011-2012 school year. Other honors include her membership in the Alpha Chi honor society, membership in the Pi Kappa Lambda musical honor society and Dean's List. She is also active in COMPANY, Belmont University's 14-person singing and dancing ensemble. Kaitlin Gress is an initiate of the Beta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Evansville (Indiana), where she is pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Music with a major in Music Management and a minor in Business Administration. Kaitlin served as an Operations Intern for the National Symphony Orchestra, where her duties included work with the operations, personnel, artistic, and library aspects of the NSO's administration. Kaitlin is a percussionist, with the marimba as her major instrument. She has served as Principal with both the University Wind Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra at the University of Evansville for the past two years and was the winner of the University's annual Vukovich Concerto Competition for 2010. She also serves as the Stage Manager for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, where she has been called upon to do everything from assisting guest artists to executing stage changes, receiving high praise for her work.
