A Word from the National President I Dear Members of Sigma Alpha Iota, Or perhaps your dream is teaching music or being a music therapist or working in the music industry. You'll find articles on all of those fields in this issue. s there any wonder that composers through the ages have written music So- Happy Spring to all and keep making music! about spring? The music of nature is all around us, and the glory of the rebirth of the earth makes us (or at least me!) want to sing. Just like the With SAI love, birds, SAIs are making music and this issue of Pan Pipes highlights some of them. We all know of the power of music. Would the movies Jaws or Psycho be as scary without the music? Or would Star Wars be as majestic? Beth Caucci has had tremendous success already composing for the film industry, even having the team she works with being nominated for an Academy Award. She is following her dream. Elizabeth M. Jane Ellen held the position of Composer Bureau Director for 9 years after serving as the Bureau's Admission Director for 3 years. Dorothy Gross was the Composers Bureau Director from 1992 through 2003.
