ROBERT BOURY • • • NEWS: Robert Boury hosted the 25th Anniversary Songwriters Showcase in November, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and has created a "Best of Songwriters Showcase" CD. On 4/7/11, Boury celebrates his thirtieth year of teaching and serving as Resident Composer to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock . MICHAEL BRAZ • • NEWS: In his 24th year at Georgia Southern University, Professor of Music Michael Braz teaches theory and composition. Dr. Braz will be retiring from university teaching at the end of this academic year and has joined the Peace Corps to teach English in Armenia. PERFORMANCES: Choral works continue to be performed by choruses of all ages on various AllState and District Honor Choir concerts, as well as school, university, and community chorus performances throughout the U.S. and overseas. PUBLICATIONS: The Music in the Rainbow (3-part treble voices, piano), published by C.F. Peters in their InterAmerican Music Awards Publication Series. First braz premiered at the 2009 Sigma Alpha Iota National Convention in Chicago, the work is a setting of the Henry Van Dyke poem "Iris," contrasting the "bow of color" with the "bow of sound." This music has not yet been performed because the commissioner had a heart attack. The Menninger Trio, from Germany, (flute, bass and piano) have asked for several pieces of music for their next album. Ms. Burton is translating all of her music into computer speak and has secured a place for them at the Wellfleet Library.
