A winner is chosen from nominations submitted to the National Vice President, Finance by chapters or province officers. R iley Larson of the Iota Alpha chapter is a recipient of the 2014 National Outstanding Collegiate Treasurer Award. e chapter's nomination praised Riley's organization and skill displayed in her two years as chapter treasurer. Riley ensured that each officer and committee head was aware of spending availability, and brought forth fundraising opportunities and ways to work with other organizations and academic programs. She worked with the Student Government Association to obtain funding for the chapter, and encouraged the chapter to sponsor a scholarship for the campus' summer music program. With Riley's support, the chapter increased their donation to SAI Philanthropies, Inc. to over $1,000 during the 2013-2014 fraternity year. e chapter also notes that Riley went above and beyond to present the annual treasurer's report to the chapter in the form of an easy-to-understand PowerPoint presentation. During officer elections, Riley presented an introduction to the office of treasurer to the tune of a song from a popular Disney movie. Riley's service as chapter treasurer is remarkable! Riley is a nutritional sciences major and is now serving the Iota Alpha Chapter as Sergeant-at-Arms. She also received the Sowrd of Honor in 2014. N a t i o N a l o u t s t a N d i N g a l u m N a e t r e a s u r e r a w a r d s h e r y e h a l l i b u r t O n t U l s a a l U M n a e C h a p t e r , Z e t a a , r e g i o n i i S herye Jeanne Esser Halliburton of the Tulsa Alumnae chapter is a recipient of the 2014 National Outstanding Alumnae Treasurer Award. Aer serving as chapter treasurer for three years in the 1970s, Sherye returned to the treasurer's position and recently completed her third year in office. e chapter's nomination notes that Sherye has streamlined, modernized, and improved the chapter's financial records, including keeping up-to-date on Officer Portal reporting. Sherye leads a raffle and a silver bowl fundraiser at each alumnae chapter meeting, donating almost all raffle items herself, and taking time to wrap and package each with a theme. e raffle benefits the local collegiate chapter scholarship fund and the convention fund. As an Sherye also takes time to serve as financial advisor for the Sigma Gamma chapter. An initiate of Sigma Gamma, she has received the Fraternity's Sword of Honor and the Rose of Honor. An SAI member for more than 50 years, Sherye continues to share her knowledge with the Tulsa Alumnae Chapter and has helped to create a financially strong future for the chapter! The National Outstanding Alumnae Treasurer's Award is given annually to one outstanding treasurer at the alumnae level. A winner is chosen from nominations submitted to the National Vice President, Finance by province officers and alumnae chapters.
