She has started several singing groups in the area and still is the soprano in the Serenaders, a women's trio. For over 10 years, she arranged the monthly concert series "Bach's Lunch" for the St. Ceci- lia Music Society. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Girls Choral Academy and was instrumental in forming a Women's Guild for that organization. e Guild is an important link between the girls in the Choral Academy and the Board of Directors. alisa Carmichael Alisa Carmichael was initiated by the Delta Chi Chapter in April. Alisa Carmichael is a pianist and organist in the Tampa Bay area who oen accompanies Delta Chi members in their juries, musicale performances, and recitals. She is oen asked to play for Wind Ensemble at the University of South Florida under the baton of her husband and fellow Friend of the Arts Dr. John C. Carmichael. Alisa holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and Music from Florida State University. She also holds a Master's degree in Li- brary Media Education from Western Kentucky University. Wayne F. dorothy Dr. Wayne F. Dorothy was initiated by the Gamma Phi Chapter in April. Dr. Wayne F. Dorothy is the Director Bands and a Professor of Music at Hardin-Simmons University. Dr. Doro- thy received the Bachelor's and Master's in Music Education from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville and a Doctorate in Conducting from Ball State University. He has been honored as the 1999 North Dakota Band Director of the Year and is also a recipient of the National Band As- sociation's prestigious Citation of Excellence. Dr. Dorothy is published in three volumes of the se- ries Teaching Music through Performance in Band and in e Jazz Band Directors Handbook: A Guide to Success. He is an active guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the United States and regularly performs as a clarinetist and saxophonist. Michael driscoll Dr. Michael Driscoll was initiated by the Kappa Beta Chapter in May. Indiana University of Pennsylvania President, Dr. Driscoll took of- fice in July 2012, selected by the Board of Gover- nors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Before his arrival, Driscoll was the executive vice chancellor and provost of the Uni- versity of Alaska Anchorage, a position he took aer serving in various posts at Portland State University in Oregon. He earned his Bachelor's Degree, Master's, and Doctorate, all in Electrical Engineering, at Michigan State University. He and his wife are active members of their church choir, and attend concerts of the music depart- ment regularly as strong supporters of the IUP College of Fine Arts. scott eggert Wisconsin-born composer Dr. Scott Eggert was initiated by the Delta Alpha Chapter in March. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Chicago, and the University of Kansas. He has been on the faculty of Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, for the past 25 years, teaching music theory and composition, and composing music in a wide variety of media, styles, and languages. e musical means which Eggert employs can vary from the most brutally discordant and rhythmically intricate, as in his monumental organ work, Mycenae: Gravesha V, to the simplest and most directly tonal, as in many of his songs. Recent work includes a Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Cello entitled Six Wooden Blocks, a four-movement Sextet, and a String Duo called Songbook. Michael r. Fish Michael R. Fish was initiated by the Lake County Alumnae Chapter in November 2013. He has supported the chapter by performing in its Spring Musicale for the past four years as the main percussionist, and has attended and assisted at the chapter's Fall Round-Up gathering with Beta Lambda at Valparaiso University. He performs with community bands in Highland and Dyer, IN, and Kankakee, IL, and contributes as a pit musician and actor at L'arc-en-ciel eatre Group in Cedar Lake, IN. He works with the Northwest Indiana Symphony as a volunteer and is a member of the Symphony Chorus. Since 2010, he has been a volunteer community lecturer for Lyric Opera of Chicago. david Grogan Dr. David Grogan was initiated by the Zeta Nu Chapter in January. A baritone, he has performed extensively throughout the Southwest to critical acclaim. He has performed as a soloist with many Dallas area arts groups including the Dallas Bach Society, Texas Baroque Ensemble, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Mesquite Civic Chorus, and the Allegro Artists, as well as at several Texas universities. Grogan joined the faculty at the University of Texas Arlington in the fall of 2009, first as visiting professor and in 2010 as tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice. His background in choral music education is extensive, including experience directing programs in both private and public schools, As choir director at Dallas Christian School from 1996 to 2000, Dr. Grogan increased choir participation from 15 members to 115 and took the choir to one of the first Texas Private School Music Educators Association competitions. He has taught voice and served as assistant choral director in some of the most prominent programs in the area. bruce Herrmann Bruce Herrmann was initiated by the Delta Chi Chapter in April. Herrmann completed his last year of study as a Master's student in Con- ducting at the University of South Florida. He is currently working at Durant High School as their new music director. Prior to his time at USF, Herrmann worked as a high school band director for 8 years serving at East Bay High School and Chamberlain Senior High School. While at USF, he served as a Graduate Assistant for e Herd of under Marching Band, Rumble Pep Band, and concert ensembles. Herrmann is a member of Phi Mu Alpha and an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi. He has grown to be one of the closest and strongest supporters of USF, the School of Music. joshua ethan Hollenbeck Joshua Ethan Hollenbeck was initiated by the eta eta Chapter in May. He is an active member within the local music community, serving at Nicholls State University as the Assistant Director of Bands and Instructor of Saxophone studies. Hollenbeck directs and arranges music for the various bands on campus and teaches a number of music and music education courses. Upon his employment with Nicholls State University, Hollenbeck has begun the noble effort to expand and improve every aspect of the Music Department. He is also in high-demand as a freelance woodwind artist and music arranger throughout the area.
