She received her Master's and Doctorate in Percussion Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Kerney is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), having held a position as the Midwest representative on the Collegiate Committee and is currently the secretary for the Florida Chapter of PAS. In addition to her position at Stetson University, she holds teaching positions at Bethune-Cookman University and Seminole State College. She is active as a freelance percussionist and timpanist in Central Florida. Shannon kitelinger Shannon Kitelinger was initiated by the Iota Delta Chapter in November. He is the Director of Bands at San Diego State University where he conducts the university Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, as well as teaching courses in conducting and wind literature and serving as the undergraduate student advisor. His awards and honors include: 2012 Music Educator of the Year from the California Music Educator's Association-Southern Border Section; 2010 Indiana University of Pennsylvania Young Alumni Achievement Award; Who's Who in Fine Arts Higher Education; and Who's Who Among American Teachers. Kitelinger holds memberships in the College Band Directors National Association, Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, California Band Director's Association, California Music Educators Association, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, Tau Beta Sigma, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity. dr. Julianne lindberg Dr. Julianne Lindberg was initiated by the Eta Omicron Chapter in December. Serving as Eta Omicron's new faculty advisor, she received her Doctorate in Musicology from UCLA with a dissertation exploring "childlike" French music at the fin de siècle. Dr. Lindberg plays the clarinet/ bass clarinet and has been teaching music history and survey courses at the University of Nevada, Reno for several years. Her secondary research interests include musical and cultural hybridity, specifically in Mexican and Mexican-American music. Her most current project investigates the musically and culturally hybrid works of Mexican-American vocalist Lila Downs and Costa Rican-Mexican ranchera legend Chavela Vargas. Her scholarly work has been presented both nationally and internationally. Dr. Lindberg is also an avid and experienced clarinetist. She performs frequently with the Reno Philharmonic and Nevada Opera, and maintains a private studio of students. kevin m. lynch Kevin M. Lynch was initiated by the eta Kappa Chapter in November. He is a graduate of William Paterson University where he studied music education with a concentration in classical piano and voice. He was presented with the Outstanding Musician Award, Legacy Scholar Award, and cum laude Latin honors for his academic and musical achievements. He is also a 2014 New Jersey Association of Community eaters Perry Award Winner for Outstanding Music Direction for New Vision Players' production of Les Misérables. He is a music director, pianist, and vocal coach in the New York/New Jersey area and is a voice and piano instructor both privately and at Gateway To e Arts in Boonton, NJ. He is also the music director at St. Michael's Parish in Netcong, NJ. He was formerly a staff accompanist at e Juilliard School in New York where he voice coached and prepared dance students for professional auditions. In addition, he was music director at Centenary Stage Company located on the campus at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. Edwin C. Roy Edwin C. Roy was initiated by the Lafayette Alumnae Chapter in September. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL-L) with additional studies at Texas A & M and Florida State University. He has been a Professor of Aerospace Science at UL-L, a government leader, a Cajun cook, and an actor. He is currently the owner of a private investigation agency and a background screening company in addition to being an airline-rated pilot and flight instructor. He has flown into the eyes of many major hurricanes and was awarded the Eye of the Storm award by the Keesler Air Force Base in 1980. He is also a contributor to Paul Harvey News and Comments on ABC Radio. He is a longtime patron of the arts and sings as first tenor in three choral groups. James m. Stephenson James M. Stephenson was initiated by the Evanston Alumnae Chapter in October. Stephenson is the Composer-in- Residence for the Lake Forest Symphony. His works have been performed by leading American orchestras and hailed by critics. Recent collaborations include a concerto for Branford Marsalis with Rodney Mack; an exuberant fanfare for the Houston Symphony; and a concerto for the Philadelphia Orchestra's principal trombonist, Nitzan Haroz. In 2010 and 2011, Stephenson premieres included a trumpet concerto in Sydney, Australia, -- with repeats in Brazil, Sweden, Croatia, the U.S., the U.K., and ailand -- as well as concertos for flute and clarinet in Florida and Ohio, respectively. His oboe concerto Duels and Dances is receiving numerous performances in the Americas by Alex Klein, former principal oboe of the Chicago Symphony. Stephenson is also active in the concert band world, with premieres occurring at major venues such as the 2010 Midwest Clinic, the 2011 American Bandmasters Association convention with the U.S. "President's Own" Marine Band, and the 2012 Texas Music Educators Association convention in Texas. His landmark educational work, Compose Yourself!, has now been performed over 200 times since its creation in 2002, and has had performances by many Chicago-land orchestras well. Before moving to Lake Forest, IL as a full-time composer, Stephenson spent 17 seasons with the Naples (FL) Philharmonic as a trumpeter, a position he won immediately upon graduating from the New England Conservatory. dISTINgUIShEd mEmBERS Lindberg Roy
