SAI-NATIONAL.ORG SPRING 2015 PAN PIPES 5 Florida Music Educators Association Tampa Bay Alumnae Chapter Jan. 15-17, 2015 T his year, the Tampa Alumnae Chapter again had the privilege of taking part in the Florida Music Educator's Conference Booth alongside Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. e conference was held at the Tampa Convention Center and ran Jan. 15-17. is conference gathers together music professionals, vendors, teachers, students, and their parents from throughout the state of Florida. Students get the chance to partake in various workshops, find inspiration in musical performances, network with others via exhibitor booths, and possibly have an opportunity themselves to perform with an ensemble. Joining forces with Phi Mu Alpha enabled us to defray registration costs. A day prior to the conference, chapter president Kathyrn Jurado and I set up all materials for the booth. e display was nicely put together. In contrast to last year, this year we had a long rectangular table, which we utilized to showcase SAI jackets, music records, sweatshirts, t- shirts, stickers, PAN PIPES, and other materials provided by National Headquarters. We also proudly displayed our SAI banner. Again this year, stickers were a hot commodity with all 140 depleted by the second day of the conference. Sisters were happy to grab stickers to show their SAI spirit. A People -to- People donation jar was also displayed for those wanting to donate to our SAI Philanthropies project. About a month or so before the event, the 2014 Google document was updated with this year's information and emailed out to the presidents of chapters in Florida. is email included information on FMEA and a sign-up sheet with time slots to help with the booth. All correspondence was done via email. We asked that at least one sister from each chapter MUSIC EDUCATION SAI Chapters Host Booths at Music Conferences Wichita Alumnae Chapter members Donna Atkeson, Deanna Waggaman, Nadine Delhotal, and Pat Boughton representing SAI at the Kansas Music Educators Conference in February.
