PAN PIPES SPRING 2015 SAI-NATIONAL.ORG 6 MUSIC EDUCATION participate for the booth to run smoothly. Several reminder follow-up emails were sent out as well. Next year, I will suggest sending out the initial email earlier within the year and to connect with presidents of those collegiate and alumnae chapters throughout the year. Phone calls may be a better initial contact method. ose sisters at the FMEA conference were excited to see a booth representing their fraternity. Sisters from all over the state of Florida got a chance to reconnect with each other and form that sisterly bond that we cherish as SAIs. In all, the booth was a great success. We attracted 5- 6 potential affiliates for our chapter, 55 sisters filled out updated contact information sheets for National Headquarters, over 140 sisters visited our booth, and we collected $145 in items sold throughout the conference. We greatly enjoyed showcasing SAI via the FMEA booth and connecting with other sisters from all over. It was a great experience, and we look forward to next year. — Porsche Parcher Tampa Bay Alumnae Chapter 2015 FMEA Booth Chair Georgia Music Edcuators Association Statesboro Alumnae Feb 5, 2015 S tatesboro Alumnae Chapter sisters worked together again to make the Georgia Music Educators Association 2015 booth project a success. President Cindy Strickland applied to National Headquarters for the Music Education grant, and treasurer Alice Schmid reserved and acquired a backdrop display for us to use from the Georgia Southern University's Library. Cindy Strickland assembled the booth and handled set-up and take-down. Editor Jerry Singletary organized the manning of the booth. She and several other chapter members, Province Officer Claudia Moller, and sisters from Iota Zeta and Gamma eta chapters shared in the manning of the booth. Anne Blackwell added an online sign-up link to the Statesboro Alumnae Chapter website to make it easier to organize the sign-up process. An easel with our coat of arms announced the booth. A tri-fold display shared with Phi Mu Alpha displayed a map of Georgia, labeled with the locations and names of the chapters of both Tau A and Tau C. Chapter pictures were arranged around the map to match with their geographical location. e table displayed our SAI banner from National Headquarters and held materials that National Headquarters sent. Items on other table tops included a photo album of pictures from the chapters (photos added annually), a bowl of peppermints, pens, a notebook of newsletters from the Statesboro Alumnae Minnie Notes, and Province Newsletters from PO Moller. Brochures from both the Atlanta Alumnae and Statesboro Alumnae Chapters were also available. e sign-in sheets recorded 23 sisters from SAI collegiate chapters and 83 alumnae sisters, plus at least three workers who forgot to sign, giving us a total of 86 visitors. Statesboro Alumnae Chapter works with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia each year to share the space and financial costs of the booth. Because of this, many couples visit together and seek out this booth every year. It has become an annual meeting place. e chapter plans to continue its educational project of placing an SAI booth at the annual GMEA conference even though it is being moved to Athens next year. Savannah has been a wonderful and convenient location for our chapter to attend. But discussions with the Iota Zeta volunteers give us hope that they will take a more active role in helping us with manning the booth in future years. — Cindy Strickland Statesboro Alumnae Chapter President Kentucky Music Educators Association Louisville Alumnae chapter Feb. 26-29, 2015 T hanks to the SAI Music Education State Convention Grant, the Louisville Alumnae Chapter was able to have a booth at the Kentucky Music Education Convention in February. Due to convention security requirements, only 4 sisters were able to sit at the booth. Several others were able to help with setup and teardown. While we did not keep an accurate count of booth visitors on both days, we had somewhere between 30 and 35 visitors on Friday, which was a much slower day than ursday. We only had 40 stickers le at the end of the convention. Given the initial sticker estimate given by Ruth Johnson before the convention, we believe we reached 110 sisters and distinguished members. We were also able to talk about SAI to many ladies who were below college age. Our booth displayed all of the literature sent to us by National Headquarters. We made a map with all of the chapters in Kentucky and surrounding areas. For our own chapter, we made an informational flyer and a survey for members and potential members. Our secretary collected pictures from alumnae and collegiate chapters throughout the state and put them in a photo album for sisters to look through. We put out candy for anyone, had cookies and cupcakes for members, and provided a signup sheet for sisters interested in hearing from the Lexington or Louisville Alumnae chapters. e Lexington chapter put out order forms for their Phlea- Phlam sunglasses. On ursday, we used a small The SAI booth at February's KMEA Convention in Lexington, KY. BOOTHS continued from page 5
