SAI-NATIONAL.ORG SPRING 2015 PAN PIPES 3 2015 CONVENTION - Voices of Experience - Voices of the Future SAI 2015 NOMINATING COMMITTEE PROCESS I n accordance with the National Bylaws, National President Dr. Leslie Odom Miller appointed a Nominating Committee Chairman prior to October 1, 2014. e chairman, Linda McAlpin, began the process for elections at the 2015 Convention by surveying all current national, regional, and province officers to determine eligibility and willingness to be considered for the same or another office. en survey results and recommendation forms were mailed to the membership so they could participate in recommending members for the various offices. In January 2015, all those recommended were sent a Request for Information form due to be returned to the chairman by March 1 as prescribed by Fraternity Bylaws. President Odom Miller appointed the following committee: e Nominating Committee was charged to study carefully each Request for Information form with regard to experience, background, and a personal statement from each recommended person regarding her qualifications for the position and projected goals if elected. e chairman had conference calls with all members of the committee to discuss the proposed candidates' information forms and performance reviews if they are current officers. Aer careful consideration and deliberation of all names submitted by the membership, the Nominating Committee members determined whom they considered to be the most qualified candidates for each of the offices at this time and therefore present a Slate of Officers for Sigma Alpha Iota for 2015. ere is an opportunity for nominations from the floor at Convention. e complete slate, with photos and biographies of candidates for national offices, is posted on the Sigma Alpha Iota website. e members of the Nominating Committee are honored to have had this opportunity to serve Sigma Alpha Iota in this important aspect of the election process.
