PAN PIPES SUMMER 2015 SAI-NATIONAL.ORG 24 by Mountain Brook and Hoover High Schools in Birmingham, Alabama, the University of Southern Mississippi Southern Chorale, and the Brigham Young University Women's Chorus. Dr. Rodgers received his Bachelor's in Music Education and Master's in Church Music from Samford University and his Doctorate in Performance and Pedagog y from the University of Southern Mississippi. John Schnettler John Schnettler was initiated by the Delta Pi Chapter in April. He has been a music educator and conductor at all levels in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. He is currently the director of the "Governor's Own" Marching Band, Pep Band, and Symphonic Band, teaches courses in instrumental music education, and supervises student teachers in music at Austin Peay State University. Schnettler is an active adjudicator, guest conductor, and honor band clinician throughout the Southeast. He has been involved with the Drum & Bugle Corps activity as a performing member, instructor, and consultant. He was also the founder, director, and lead trumpet for the Tampa Bay Lightning's "Frozen Funk," the first professional pep band in the National Hockey League. Mr. Schnettler received his Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Central Florida, and a Master's in Conducting and a Master's in Music Education from the University of South Florida. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music Education with a minor in Conducting from the University of Georgia. Scott Thile Scott ile was initiated by the Iota Beta Chapter in April. Before arriving at Murray State University, ile obtained his Registered Piano Technician certificate. He has served as the President of the San Diego Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild in addition to membership of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians. ile has performed with numerous accredited groups around the nation, including four-time Grammy award winner, Nickel Creek, alongside his son, Chris ile. Not only do his skills excel in piano, but he is also an outstanding upright string bassist. Currently, ile runs his own Piano Service business entitled S.E. ile Piano Services. He also has self-promoted and created numerous discographies, including works for the Todd Hill Quintet, Nickel Creek, Chris ile, and area musicians in Southern California. Dr. Nathan Warner Dr. Nathan Warner was initiated by Lambda Eta Chapter in March. Dr. Warner is an Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Lee University and is the founder and director of the Lee Brass Ensemble, which has brought a new venue of performance to many students, including sisters in Lambda Eta. He has performed with artists such as Lady Antebellum, e Temptations, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. In all that Dr. Warner is involved with on campus, the students are eager to learn from his experience both musically and as successful performer in the world of popular music. Dr. Warner received his Bachelor's from Indiana University, his Master's in Trumpet Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and his Doctorate in Trumpet Performance from Stony Brook University. Kevin West Kevin West was initiated by the Beta Eta Chapter in April. West is known by Western Michigan University students as the Director of the Concert's office in the School of Music. Mr. West received both his Bachelor's and Master's from Western Michigan University, and has been a staple in the school of music for many years. During his time at WMU he served as President of the Delta Iota Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, as well as Deputy Province Governor of Province 2. He is currently a faculty advisor for both Delta Iota and Beta Eta. Mr. West sings in his church choir and is a supporter of the Kalamazoo Singers. He is also the administrative director of the Western Michigan University high school summer camp, Seminar. Dr. Richard P. White Dr. Richard P. (Dick) White was initiated by the East Texas Alumnae Chapter in June. Dr. White, a Nacogdoches native, has lived and served in East Texas his entire life. He holds degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University, Brite Divinity at Texas Christian University and Houston Graduate School of eolog y. He met his future wife JoAn while she was attending the 1978 National SAI convention in Dallas. She now serves as Kappa B Province Officer. Dr. White, a Methodist minister, is an enthusiastic supporter of musical events in the church as well as in the community. In addition to his ministerial/ pastoral duties, he plays in the church handbell choir and participates in a line dancing class which performs at nursing homes. Each summer he serves as the director of the conference choir clinic camp. He is an advocate of the importance of music in the lives of all people and exhibits his belief by attending concerts and performances regularly all across the northeast Texas area. Danielle Wilson Danielle Wilson was initiated by the Mu Gamma Chapter in April. Wilson earned both her Bachelor's and her Master's in Classical Vocal Performance. In addition to being a vocalist, Wilson is also a pianist. She uses all of her skills in her profession as the Minister of Music at Triumph Christian Center. In her third year as an alumna of Morehead State University, Wilson has already acted in this leadership position twice at two different churches. e position of Minister of Music brings her joy because she is able to do what she loves while also serving her community by sharing her musicality and helping the churches to grow in their musicianship.
