PAN PIPES • WINTER 2016 • sai-national.org 4 CHAIRMAN Heidi Frankson is an initiate of Iota Epsilon chapter at Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana where she earned her Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music degrees in Vocal Performance. She is the newly appointed Chairman of Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc., having served for the past triennium as the Vice Chairman of the board. Heidi is past president of the Charlotte, Bloomington, Washington, D.C., and New York Alumnae Chapters. She has also served as Beta A Province Officer. She is the recipient of the Sword of Honor, Rose of Honor, and Wreath of Dedication. Heidi teaches private voice and works as a music consultant for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She has had experience as a corporate development manager for a number of organizations, including the Charlotte Symphony, the Kinsey Institute, where she dealt with financial sponsorship and annual campaigns, and the Marilyn Horne Foundation, where she was Development Director for four years. She resides in Matthews, NC with her husband Michael Hackett, an assistant music professor in trumpet and jazz studies at UNC Charlotte, and son Eric. SECRETARY Christine Hall is a freelance journalist, after spending nearly 10 years as a reporter for the Houston Business Journal. She graduated with a B.A. in print journalism from Murray State University and a M.A. in journalism from The Ohio State University. She was initiated into the Iota Beta chapter at Murray State. Christine is currently a member of the Houston Alumnae Chapter. Prior to being named to the SAI Philanthropies, Inc. Board, she was Kappa D Province Officer for 2012-2015 and also served as Listserv/ Communications Director for the fraternity. Christine was awarded the Rose of Honor and Sword of Honor. VICE-CHAIRMAN Sandra (Sandy) Erickson is an Alpha Alpha initiate of SAI (Bethany College, Lindsborg, KS) and a current member of the Madison Alumnae Chapter in Madison, WI. Prior to completing three terms as Epsilon A Province Officer at the 2015 Triennial Convention, she held nearly every office in the Alumnae Chapter and is a recipient of the Sword of Honor and Rose of Honor. Sandy holds a B.S. in Social Work/ Sociology from Bethany, a M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from UW-Madison, and is employed as the Director, Community Impact- Health at the United Way of Dane County. On staff at United Way for over 30 years, she brings expertise in non-profit management and Board and volunteer development to the Philanthropies Board. Organ studies during college and graduate school led to a passion for early music. Sandy has participated in the Madison Early Music Festival each year since it began in 2000. President of the MEMF Advisory Board which she helped to develop, Sandy is an avocational musician who plays the piano, organ, recorder, sings in her church choir, and is a former member of Eliza's Toyes Early Music Ensemble based in Madison. TREASURER Kimberly Philips was initiated into Eta Omicron Chapter at e University of Nevada, Reno in the Spring of 1998, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting. She also holds a Master's of Business Administration from UNR. She held several leadership positions in both her collegiate and alumnae chapters, having the opportunity to be involved in many alumnae chapters across the country. She previously served in the role of Treasurer of SAI Philanthropies, Inc. from 2006-2012. She is a recipient of the Scholastic Award, Collegiate Honor Award, Sword of Honor, Rose of Honor, and Wreath of Achievement. Professionally, Kimberly has spent the last 12 years with PSAV at various hotels across the country. She is currently employed as the Director of Sales for PSAV at e Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. She was named outstanding Sales Director in 2015 and is an active member of the Las Vegas Hospitality Association. Kimberly lives in Henderson, NV with her husband and two sons and is affiliated with the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter. NATIONAL PRESIDENT Dr. Leslie Odom Miller is beginning her second term as National President. She previously served the fraternity as National Vice President, Alumnae Chapters for two terms, National Vice President, Collegiate Chapters for one term, as Director of the SAI Listserv, and as Lambda B Province Officer. Leslie earned a Bachelor's of Music degree in Oboe Performance at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was initiated into the Zeta Chapter of SAI. She also attended Eastman School of Music, where she earned a Master's of Music in Music Theory and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Oboe Performance and Literature. Leslie is an Associate Professor of Oboe and Music Theory at the University of Florida, and she is an active performer, playing principal oboe in the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra and abroad. She is a recipient of several honors for outstanding service to Sigma Alpha Iota, including the Sword of Honor, Rose of Honor, Diamond Sword of Honor, and Ring of Excellence. 2015-2018 SAI PHILANTHROPIES, INC.
