Julia also performed as a lead soprano in the "Voices of Liberty" Americana show at Walt Disney World's EPCOT Center, where she was featured as a main park attraction. In Fall 2015, Dollison joined the jazz studies faculty at The University of Northern Colorado as they launched the Vocal Jazz Degree Program. From 2005 to 2013, Dollison and husband Kerry Marsh directed the vocal jazz program at Sacramento State, during which time the students and ensembles earned thirteen Down Beat Student Music Awards for Best Collegiate Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Best Collegiate Jazz Arrangement, and Outstanding Jazz Vocal Soloist. Dollison has been an adjunct jazz studies faculty member at eight other universities including Metropolitan State University in Denver, The New School University in New York, and at Florida's University of Miami, where she also earned her Bachelor's and Master's in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal Performance. Dollison and Marsh have most recently appeared with Ben Folds with sold out audiences at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Philharmonic, Boston Pops Symphony, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. An experienced studio singer, Dollison can be heard as the soprano soloist in film scores from The Stepford Wives and The Corpse Bride. She has also recorded commercials for Disney, Fox, Coca Cola, Pier One Imports, Go Girl Energy Drinks, and Mattress Discounters, and has pre- recorded vocal tracks for the Florida Orange Bowl's "New Year's Event" halftime shows and parades, the 9/11 First Anniversary Memorial Service, and The Rockettes' Radio City Music Hall "Christmas Spectacular" in New York. Shari Feldman Shari Feldman was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Eta Rho Chapter in March. She is the academic advisor and recruitment coordinator for the Department of Music's undergraduate student body. As an undergrad, she started ProjectMUSIC: Music Uniting Students Inspiring Communities, a Service-Learning program which many SAI sisters have both been involved in and have run aer Shari's graduation. Feldman graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor's in Music and a Master's in Music in Vocal Performance. Her previous work experience within Residence Life and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Services at the University of Delaware lends itself well to her current responsibilities, which include undergraduate academic advisement, course scheduling and registration, scholarship maintenance, college recruitment events, and audition coordination for prospective students. In addition to her administrative work, Ms. Feldman teaches voice privately and performs locally. Jose L. Flores Jose L. Flores was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Reno Alumnae Chapter in March. Mr. Flores lives in Reno, where he is a tireless supporter of music in the community and has received many commendations and awards in his career. He has been a Music Educator in the Washoe County School District since 1996, served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2007 teaching applied saxophone, founded the Mariachi Band programs at Vaughn Middle School and the UNR, with continued work to further this art form, and served as a National Symphony Orchestra/ Kennedy Center Teacher Fellow in 2006. Jose has received awards during his musical career, including $40,000 in grants and fellowships, Senatorial Recognition and Commendations, and the Northern Nevada Teacher of the Year in 2002. Dan Garland Dan Garland was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter in February. An organ builder extraordinaire, his career as a participant and contributor to the artistic community of Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex and beyond has made an impact on countless members of our fraternity, houses of worship, and communities. His company's organs include numerous Texas installations and major renovations in Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island. He is a member of Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America and International Society of Organ Builders. While attending Texas Wesleyan University for a performance degree, he was preparing to follow his passion to build the "King of Instruments." Garland Pipe Organs was founded in 1982 and incorporated in 1986. e aim of the company is to excite and inspire those who play and hear its instruments. Kerry Marsh Kerry Marsh was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Delta Zeta Chapter in March. He is a composer and arranger specializing in contemporary music for vocal jazz ensembles. In high demand as a commissioned arranger for many of the nation's top educational vocal and instrumental jazz ensembles, Marsh has a large and varied catalog of music performed regularly around the world. Kerry has published arrangements through UNC Jazz Press and Sound Music Publications. A member of the jazz studies faculty at The University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, he directs two advanced vocal jazz ensembles and teaches other courses within the music department. In only its second year under Marsh's direction, Vocal Lab was the sole winner of the DownBeat Magazine Student Music Award in the Large Graduate Level Vocal Jazz Ensemble Category. Previously, he served for ten years as the director of vocal jazz ensembles at Sacramento State. Marsh's vocal jazz ensembles were invited twice to perform at conferences of the International Association for Jazz Education, and, in 2009, they were one of fourteen winners of a national search to have a song appear on the Epic Records release: Ben Folds - College A Cappella. Marsh has since worked with Folds as a vocal arranger and background singer, and director in numerous performances with major symphony orchestras, including the Boston Pops, The Washington National Symphony, and The LA Philharmonic in performances at The Hollywood Bowl. Marsh is busy year-round as an adjudicator and clinician for jazz festivals and workshops.
