sai-national.org • SUMMER 2016 • PAN PIPES 15 Jessica Elliott is a charter member of the Mu Alpha chapter of SAI and is now a very proud member of the Denver Alumnae Chapter. Her love of music started at a very young age and continued into college where she studied Vocal Performance at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. Aer a brief professional stint away from music, Elliott knew that she had to find a way to bring it back as a major aspect of her life. It was this realization that led her to discover In Home Music Teachers. "I feel like I've found my purpose," Elliott said of her position as Communications Manager. "Every day I get to help professional musicians share their knowledge of music with the new generation." Her job is to help music teachers grow their private music business by matching them with students and handling administrative responsibilities. "is allows teachers to focus on what is truly important, teaching music and changing lives." One of the biggest things that drew Elliott to In Home Music Teachers was that it shares one of the same missions as SAI: To further the development of music in America, and eventually extend that worldwide. "We know and care about each of the teachers that we work for," Elliott said, "What I do is really about building relationships, and what could be more rewarding than that?" With a small team that is extremely dedicated, Elliott and her fellow team members at In Home Music Teachers provide personalized service to each and every teacher that is enrolled in their program. Her involvement with SAI has afforded her the opportunity to get to know many passionate musicians, and that fuels her motivation in her workplace. "I would love to work with more SAI members through In Home Music Teachers," Elliott said, "Everyone is so passionate about continuing music education. I would be honored to help more SAI members build their student rosters. I know there are many students out there that would benefit greatly from being connected with the kind of teachers that are involved with this fraternity." Founded in 2009, In Home Music Teachers started out by only serving teachers in Dallas but quickly spread to other cities in the US. Currently In Home Music Teachers provides its services in Denver, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Richmond, Raleigh-Durham, Washington D.C., and Baton Rouge, and it is still expanding. ey are also working to facilitate live online lessons with students and teachers in more remote locations. Jessica Elliott and her team would love to hear from you and help you connect with more students looking for music lessons!
