Marcia is a long-time, dedicated member of SAI who calls Nashville home. An initiate of the Iota Phi Chapter, she is now an active member of the Nashville Alumnae Chapter. She has held many chapter offices over the years, including President and Editor, and has served as chairman on numerous committees. As the chapter's photographer she set up a Shutterfly account to post pictures of chapter events, as well as created programs and publicity for chapter projects. Nationally, she served the fraternity for several years as the Editor of PAN PIPES. Marcia is an active volunteer in her community. For years she read the local newspaper, e Tennessean, for the Talking Library, a service for the Blind in Nashville. She currently works at the Second Harvest Food Bank and volunteers for Room in the Inn Project, a local program that provides shelter for the homeless in local area churches during the winter. She also volunteers for the Nashville Symphony and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, for performances of the Tennessee Repertory eater, the Nashville Opera, and the Nashville Ballet. Her chapter president wrote, "Marcia is a leader by her example. Not only has she served in several offices for the local alumnae chapter, but with her creativity she has enhanced many chapter projects. She is an example of lifelong commitment to SAI by having been a member for over fiy years and shows her love of the fraternity by being involved in activities of the chapter, especially by using her camera to capture those moments." Her province officer added, "Marcia exemplifies what it means to be a member of SAI. Her leadership skills greatly influenced both the chapter and national fraternity. She is a wonderful example of a sister of SAI." In total, Lake County affiliated and initiated 12 new members! ey completed an extensive service project in support of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and made significant donations to local organizations and SAI Philanthropies, Inc. Lake County has demonstrated the National Objectives to a high degree." e chapter actively promoted its programs and efforts on social media, sharing information about its fundraisers, member performances, 51st Annual Spring Philanthropies Musicale, and individual opportunities in music.
