He holds a Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University (Bloomington) and a Bachelors of Music Education from Morehead State University. Mr. Wing has served as an Assistant Instructor of Trumpet at Indiana University and an instructor of trumpet for the Nevada School of the Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Wing also leads a busy and productive performance schedule. He has performed with classical and jazz musicians such as Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lexington Brass Band, and the Lexington Philharmonic. He is also a former member of the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, "DOJO." Along with those accolades, Mr. Wing is known as one of the nation's leading trumpet artists. He has performed with notable artists such as Paul Anka, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tom Jones, and Natalie Cole. Mr. Wing has played lead trumpet for the Buddy Rich Big Band, Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas Hilton, Flamingo Hilton, and Stardust Hotel's house orchestras. He is in high demand as a soloist and clinician has had a long association with the Conn-Selmer Corporation as an Artist/Clinician for Vincent Bach Trumpets. He serves on the Advisory Board for the National Trumpet Competition, one of the nation's most prestigious trumpet competitions and was the recipient of the 2010-2011 Morehead State University Distinguished Teacher of the Year award. Professor Wing is also the recipient of the 2013 Morehead State University Alumni Hall of Fame Award. Irv Feldman Irv Feldman was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Pontchartrain Alumnae Chapter in October. He is the father of chapter member and Gamma Chi initiate Cathy Feldman-Duncan. Irv has been an active musician since the age of 12, and at 16, began playing professionally with his own group. Performing under the name Irv Fields, his was one of the most popular bands in the Detroit area, where he performed numerous casual gigs, in addition to performing at the Fisher eater. Irv continues to remain active musically. He is oen a featured soloist with the Plymouth Community Band and performs regularly with several community bands and big bands. Irv continues to teach private saxophone and clarinet lessons. Most recently, Irv has performed with the Pontchartrain Alumnae Chapter for their annual recital at Henry Ford Village and at its 50th Anniversary Celebration. Benjamin D. Hoffman Benjamin D. Hoffman was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the St. Louis Alumnae Chapter in September. A retired IT Architect for the IBM Corporation, Hoffman was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and he studied mathematics, philosophy, and computer science at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. Inheriting a love of music from his parents, Ben has been surrounded by musicians his entire life: his sister (a cellist), his brother (a pianist), and his wife Julie, a Sigma Gamma initiate and fellow member of the St. Louis Alumnae Chapter (a violist). Ben is a patron and subscriber of the St. Louis Symphony and St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestras. He also subscribes to the Municipal eater Association of St Louis and is a roadie for Quartet Brioso. His hobbies are photography and being an Amateur Radio (HAM) Operator. He supports students in the arts through the Community Music School. Married to an SAI and orchestra teacher, he has supervised, advised, carried, set-up, torn down, corralled, and anything else one does to help an orchestra teacher get through yearly events with students. e members of the St. Louis Alumnae chapter know him as the chapter photographer. John Jones John K. Jones was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Tucson Alumnae Chapter in October. He is the brother of Betty Maurstad, an initiate of Alpha Upsilon and a current officer in the Tucson Alumnae Chapter. Jones has spent all of his adult life involved in Music as a teacher and as a performer. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from University of Northern Iowa. He was a band instructor in several towns in Iowa and played in various dance bands over 30 years. One band he played in was featured in the movie Country, filmed in Readlyn, IA in 1984, for which he still receives annual residuals. LaToya Lain LaToy Lain was initiated as a Friend of the Arts by the Eta Xi Chapter at Central Michigan University in October. Applauded for her wonderfully rich, powerful, and captivating voice, American singer LaToya Lain, a native of New Orleans, LA, studied voice at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, Florida State University, and the University of Nevada. She is also a graduate of Chautauqua Opera's Young Artist Program. LaToya made the transition to spinto soprano and is currently studying voice with Julia Faulker at the Chicago Lyric Opera. LaToya'smost recent engagements included performances of Gershwin''s Porgy and Bess at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Hamburgische Oper, and the Köln Philharmonie.
