Candidates for the position of Assistant Executive Director must have been initiated as a collegiate member of Sigma Alpha Iota and be a current member of the SAI National Alumnae Association. Applicants must have knowledge of both the Fraternity and SAI Philanthropies, Inc. S ummertime at SAI National Headquarters sets a different pace — from celebrating Founders Day on June 12, to planting new rose bushes and perennials in the SAI Harmony Rose Garden, to wrapping up loose ends on chapter records, it is a gentle time. Visitors are welcomed year- round, but there is an increased number in the summer due to family vacations and popular tourist destinations close by. SAIs who come to volunteer their time, such as Mary Jennings, who is a regular, are also important to the flow of summer activities. For 27 years, Ruth Sieber Johnson has been escorting alumnae and undergraduates alike on the "NH Tour." Shown here with Dorothy Duensing-Sannar, a Detroit alumna who has travelled to Asheville several times, there are always historical tidbits, memories, and lots of music-making to share. As SAI Executive Director, Ruth looks forward to continuing in her role and is excited to be a part of the future as the search for an Assistant Executive Director begins.
