EDWARD KNIGHT NEWS: As Composer-in-Residence and Director of Music Composition at Oklahoma City University (OCU), Knight is at work on four pieces for wind ensemble. Seventh Day of the Seventh Moon will be premiered by the Oklahoma City University Wind Philharmonic on November 29, 2012, under the direction of Matthew Mailman. Joseph Missal and the Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble will premiere Inbox on February 21, 2013 and Peace and Light Rising, on April 11, 2013 in Stillwater, OK. Dr. Missal will lead the Japanese premiere of Peace and Light Rising at the 2013 Japan Band Clinic in Hamamatsu City, Japan with an additional performance at the Mushashino Academy of Music in Tokyo. Peace and Light Rising is to be a gift from the people of Oklahoma to the people of Japan, commemorating the thousands of victims of the tsunami and earthquakes of March, 2010. Mark Belcik and the Oklahoma City Community Band will premiere Beneath A Cinnamon Moon in Fall 2013. ESAU: A Christmas Fable is the story of a young donkey who lives in the stable where Jesus is born, and who develops a special relationship to the Child, as well as becoming a kind of guardian and guide as Jesus is visited by the jager Shepherds and the Wise Men.
