In February, she starred in Witness Uganda as Joy at the Wallis Annenberg Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. Most recently, Amber made her Two River eatre Company debut as Luna C in Oo-Bla-Dee, by Golden Globe Winner Regina Taylor, and directed by two time TONY Award winner, Ruben Santaigo-Hudson. She made her television debut as Shay in the hit HBO show, High Maintenance. Her proudest achievement is Steve, a short film that she wrote, produced, and starred in, currently making waves through the film festival circuit. To date, Steve has won "Best Comedy Short" at the Summer in the South Film Festival in Atlanta, GA, and "Best Actress in a Short" at the Silver State Film Festival in Las Vegas, NV. Exceptional PSAT scores earned her a spot as a National Achievement Scholarship Finalist, which garnered her a full scholarship to Howard University in Washington, DC. At Howard, Amber was an active member of the Delta Nu chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota and D.I.V.A. Incorporated, a Society for Women in the Arts. She also studied at NYU's CAP 21 Summer Professional Musical eatre Program. While in school, Amber won Owen Dodson "Weenie" Awards for Outstanding Development as an Actress & Vocalist, and the Mike Malone Triple reat Award. Aer graduating magna cum laude, with a BFA in Musical eatre, Amber returned to Georgia. While in Atlanta, her performances included Woman #1 in e Colored Museum, Lady in Orange in For Colored Girls…, and Erzulie in Once on this Island. She was nominated for an IRNE for Best Supporting Actress as Cheryl in Stick Fly (Arena Stage/ Huntington eatre). She moved to NYC in January of 2012 and made her Off-Broadway debut as Mrs. Jefferson/ Seasons of Love Soloist in RENT (New World Stages), and Hannah in A Civil War Christmas (NY eatre Workshop). Amber made her Broadway debut as the High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone, in Soul Doctor, earning rave reviews and a nomination for the prestigious Clive Barnes Award. She then tackled the role of Aldonza in Man of la Mancha at the Shakespeare eatre Company in Washington, DC, receiving the Emery Battis Award for Acting Excellence and a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical. In Spring of 2016, Amber returned to Broadway in Shuffle Along, or, e Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All at Followed. e show, nominated for 10 Tony Awards, was written and directed by George C. Wolfe, choreographed by Savion Glover, and boasted an all-star cast of Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, Joshua Henry, and Brandon Victor Dixon. Marking her first national tour, Amber played Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds with the 11-time Tony Award winning smash hit Hamilton. She had a blast as Cheryl in the star- studded, limited run of Little Shop of Horrors at On Broadway Delta Nu initiate Amber Iman SAIS IN THE NEWS
