Jan Bach NEWS: The CD Oompah Suite, named for and containing Dr. Bach's "Oompah Suite" for horn and tuba, won the Roger Bobo Outstanding Recording award for excellence (chamber music division) at the 2012 ITEA Convention. Dr. Bach wrote "Clef Hanger" for solo trombone, commissioned by David Begnoche, and arranged his work for the Gaudete Brass Quintet, "Vic and Sade's Band Concert," for wind ensemble. bach PERFORMANCES: "Pilgrimage." DAN LOCKLAIR** NEWS: Dan Locklair is Composer-in-Residence and Professor of Music at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Chosen by the administration to deliver the University's prestigious Hubert McNeill Poteat Lecture for 2012, he did so on March 5 with a multimedia presentation entitled, Following My Muse: The Music of Dan Locklair. Locklair's Dance the Joy (for organ), commissioned and published by United Locklair Music Publishers in the new volume ORGANWORKS!, was the only American composition represented at the 2012 London Festival of Contemporary Music in May 2012 in London. Performances of Locklair works continue to flourish world-wide, both through live performances and radio broadcasts via the many commercial CD's featuring his compositions, including American syndicated radio programs Pipe Dreams and With Heart and Voice.
