MUSIC HOUSE MUSEUM INVITATION

As a follow-up to Jayne Hanlin's comprehensive article about the
Music House Museum in Acme, MI, in the Winter issue of PAN
PIPES, as Board President of that organization I'm extending
an open invitation to SAI members and groups to visit and tour,
either individually or with others. As of May 1 we are open Tuesday
through Saturday, 10-4, with our last tour beginning about 2:30.
Our venue is available for chapter events, private parties, etc.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S BRASS CONFERENCE
IWBC exists to educate, develop, support, and inspire all
women brass musicians. For over 20 years, IWBC has successfully
worked towards its mission by:
• Hosting seven international conferences
• Supporting outstanding musicians through the Susan
Slaughter Solo Competition
• Commissioning new pieces for brass
• Publishing NoteWorthy, the biannual newsletter

2022-2023 ASSOCIATION OF CONCERT BANDS YOUNG
COMPOSERS COMPOSITION CONTEST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
THE JOHN PHILIP SOUSA FOUNDATION
• Eligibility: Composers under 30 years of age on June 15, 2022
• A 3 - 5 minute duration piece of original composition for concert
band at a grade level of roughly grade 4.
• Premiere: The piece will be premiered at the annual convention
of the Association of Concert Bands
• The composer will receive an award of $2,000 and
reimbursement up to $1,000 for travel expenses to attend the ACB
Convention for the premiere if available to attend.
Deadline: June 15, 2022
Notification: by November 1, 2022
