Finally, we will be gathering in person at the Sheraton-Greensboro/Koury Convention Center July 28 – August 1. As you look through this issue of PAN PIPES, you will glean important information about the various activities and speakers that will take place during convention. Our National Convention is about seeing old friends and making new friends, learning new information, and hearing wonderful, glorious music. But most importantly, being together at our National Convention is about us rededicating ourselves to the Mission and Purposes of SAI. One of my favorite things to celebrate is when all the newly installed chapters since the last National Convention are recognized by "putting their pin" on the map during the first General Session. Another favorite event of mine is the Initiation Ceremony that takes place on Thursday evening. I know that this will in fact be an emotional and strengthening event, as we are now moving back to in-person rituals in the fall. What a great way to start off a new triennium with this reminder of our own beginnings in SAI. I must admit that my all-time favorite thing during a National Convention is when all those in attendance raise their voices and sing the Sigma Alpha Iota Chorale. No conductor is needed – we all feel the music, the words, and the meaning deep in our hearts together as a unified fraternity. It gives me chills even as I write these words to you today. This is my last set of "Words from the National President" as I have reached my term limit as National President. I would like to thank all our volunteers who have kept the Fraternity going over the past four years. With your service and dedication, SAI has continued to grow and prosper during a tumultuous time in the history of our country. I especially want to thank the members of the National Executive Board who have worked tirelessly for the betterment of SAI. Looking back over the past ten years, I have had the great pleasure of meeting sisters from across the country both in person and virtually. It has been a great honor for me to have served in this role. I look forward to returning to my local alumnae chapter, as well as serving as an advisor for my local collegiate chapter.
