This award will provide an after school piano program for students. JATONA R. CHESTER A n n A r b o r A l u m n a e, A l p h a A , R e g i o n V I I Jatona Chester and the Ypsilanti Community Middle School were awarded the amount of $4,195.95 for the purchase of world drumming instruments. This award will provide 20 drums of different varieties and other percussion instruments for the school's new drumming program. Rickards Middle School were awarded the amount of $5,000 for new band instruments that are needed due to the roof on their school collapsing, damaging many of the program's instruments. I just returned from my trip to Italy and I would love to share some photos with you! I spent the first week in Orvieto, where I performed in the most beautiful venues in masterclasses and trumpet ensembles. We had a wonderful Italian guest artist, Trumpeter Andrea Tofanelli! Orvieto is also known for their Duomo ...Our last few days in Italy were spent in Rome, where we saw the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Vatican, and much more. I had such an incredible musical and cultural experience, and I already can't wait to go back!! This was my first time out of the country and I can't thank SAI Philanthropies, Inc. enough for providing me with this opportunity through the Summer Music Scholarship. Thank you so, so much!!!!!
