Fraternity Awards 2024 SIGMA ALPHA IOTA PAN PIPES FALL 2024 17 REGION RECIPIENT CHAPTER PROVINCE I Tia Annis Pasadena Delta A II Linda Poetschke San Antonio Kappa A V Mary Ann Sadilek Oak Park Gamma B VI Nicole Morris Charlotte Tau B VIII Dr. Ann Estill Northern New Jersey Phi B LINDA POETSCHKE San Antonio, Kappa A, Region II NATIONAL ALUMNAE LEADERSHIP AWARD REGIONAL ALUMNAE LEADERSHIP AWARD DIAMOND SWORD OF HONOR This year's recipient of the National Alumnae Leadership Award is Linda Poetschke of the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter. Linda was initiated into the Iota Theta chapter, University of North Texas, in 1968. She was a professor of vocal studies at the University of Texas, San Antonio. The chairman of the music department described Linda as "the jewel of the department." While on staff at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Linda was instrumental in the installation of the Theta Gamma chapter. She wanted to share her love of music along with the sisterhood of SAI to the collegiate students. She continued to share her love of SAI by serving the Theta Gamma chapter as faculty advisor. Linda also helped to re-activate the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter. As a member of the chapter, she has served in many capacities as Sergeant-at-Arms, Historian, and chaired many committees over the years. She continues to coordinate joint activities with the Theta Gamma and San Antonio chapters. Linda is an active performer in the San Antonio community, most notably the San Antonio Opera, where she serves on the Board of Directors for the Opera. She co-founded the TAOS Opera Institute, where she leads master classes every summer. Linda is also involved with the National Association of Teachers of Singers.
