D ear Readers, It would be remiss of me to not begin this note with a glowing review of the 51st National Convention! It was a joy to see so many of you this past summer, both new friends and those I haven't seen in ages. This issue is full of memorable Convention moments from its very first pages, including PHun with PHilanthropies; an excerpt from Ruth Sieber Johnson's keynote address; and, of course, all of Convention's talented musicians. It's impossible to fit all the memories into these few pages, so even more updates from Minneapolis are to come over the next few issues. I should limit myself to the number of times I use the word "joy" in one letter, but it's nearly impossible with the annual awards issue. It is a joy to see the impact our members and chapters have made, both locally and beyond. From personal development to reaching the entire sisterhood—and everything in between—Sigma Alpha Iota members strive to bring that joy into the world. Seeing the hard work of our members makes me proud to be a sister and a musician, witnessing first-hand the endless reach music has on the world. Please join me in congratulating all our Fraternity and Philanthropy Award winners! It's never too early to start thinking about applying for next year, either. That March deadline comes faster than you know it! As if that isn't enough, this issue also features a number of milestones to close out 2025: JoAnn Falletta's 25th anniversary as Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic; Peggy Cobb, SAI's oldest living member, celebrating her 110th birthday; and a commemoration of The Sound of Music, released 60 years ago this year. They all bring so much joy, in many different ways. If you're inspired to share your musical story, interview, or service project, share it with PAN PIPES!
