2 Fall 2025 • sai-national.org D ear Members of Sigma Alpha Iota, What an incredible summer we shared at our 51st National Convention in Minneapolis, MN! Thank you for making it such a memorable gathering of music, community, and celebration—and for the honor of electing me to serve a second term as your National President. I am deeply honored by your confidence in my leadership and excited to continue this journey with you. My deepest gratitude goes to the volunteers, committees, performers, and staff whose tireless work brought our convention to life. From the earliest planning details to the final notes on stage, your efforts turned vision into reality and made this gathering truly extraordinary. To my fellow fraternity officers from the 2022–2025 triennium, it has been an honor to serve with you. A leader is only as good as their support system, and you proved every day that true leadership is shared. For those who were able to join us in Minneapolis, I hope this issue of PAN PIPES rekindles fond memories of music, laughter, and connection. And for those who could not attend in person, these pages are filled with stories, photos, and reflections to bring the spirit of Convention to you wherever you are. Inside, you'll also meet the newly elected members of the National Officers Conference, learn about our new National Objectives for the 2025–2028 triennium, and celebrate the award-winning members and chapters who have excelled in the 2024–2025 fraternity year. This issue also introduces the new board of SAI Philanthropies, Inc., provides a list of scholarship and grant opportunities for 2026–2027, and highlights our most recent recipients. Seeing the impact of our philanthropic arm—and the many ways it gives back to our members—serves as an inspiring reminder of what we can achieve together. I hope it encourages you to continue supporting this important mission with an annual contribution. Beyond Convention and Fraternity updates, you'll also find stories that celebrate the many ways music continues to inspire and connect us. Highlights include the Metropolitan Opera's season opening with the premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Garth Baxter's gift of representing the female point of view in his compositions, and a look back at sixty years of The Sound of Music. We also honor JoAnn Falletta's remarkable twenty-five seasons of leadership with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrate SAI's own supercentenarian Peggy Cobb, and share insights from the 12th Estill World Voice Symposium. And for those who love exploring music beyond the stage, Jayne Hanlin takes us behind the scenes of London's Royal Opera House. Sigma Alpha Iota continues to thrive through the dedication of our members, the strength of our values, and the power of our shared purpose. Every step forward—whether in music, service, or leadership—has carried our mission further and drawn us closer together. As I begin this second term, I am both humbled and energized to continue this work alongside you. Together, we will foster stability, encourage growth, and inspire one another to new heights. I cannot wait to see what we will achieve together in this next triennium.
