Janet Tomasson, a friend from high school who invited me to visit and learn more about the college chapter. She became my pledge mom (now VPM) and good friend. Special collegiate memories: We put on a Christmas Musicale by invitation from the music faculty, where our chapter chorus and soloists performed. It was always a special event. I also performed at the 1968 National Convention in Chicago, conducted by Martha Dodge Stoner. This was very exciting for us. Special alumnae memories: It was a very special time when our LaGrange Chapter Chorus provided a musicale at the Chicago Convention in 1984, directed by Lois Lawrence. Mable Biever, one of the early Oak Park Alumnae members. She was my sixth grade music teacher in Riverside, Illinois. Special collegiate memories: We were in charge of bringing a voice alum, Suzanne Johnson Petersen, back from New York to Augustana to give a recital. I also organized our first-ever Student MENC Chapter at Augustana. Most especially, I remember the excitement of the chapter installation at Augustana, and that one of SAI's founders attended. Special alumnae memories: I joined the Oak Park Chapter soon after graduation when I started teaching in Riverside. Mable Biever and Mary Ann Sadilek were dear teaching friends and they were members, so I was delighted to join!
