distinguished members with the world-renowned trumpet player Vince DiMartino starting in ninth grade. After high school his mentors included James Copenhaver, William Moody, and Harry Clarke, all leaders in the National Band Association and the College Band Directors National Association. He earned his degree in music education with a performer's certificate on trumpet and developed one of his core values: music educators should be great musicians. With appreciation to many more eminent teachers and conductors, he added his Master's in Education and a Doctorate in Instrumental Conducting. Dr. Moore began his career as the Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Kentucky, where he directed the symphonic band, marching band, and second jazz ensemble. Later, he became the Director of Bands at his alma mater, Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY. His students produced a decade of recordbreaking achievements, including a performance at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, annual superior ratings at the State Concert Band Festival, and six consecutive championships in the Kentucky State Marching Band Championships. During this time, Dr. Moore was awarded Kentucky High School Teacher of the Year. He served as Director of Bands at Colorado State University for another decade and joined the University of Central Michigan faculty in 2010. As Chairman of the Department of Music at UCM, he continues the tradition of having a musical family with his wife, who is a music therapist, and their two children. Chenevert Initiated by the Iota Omega Chapter in April, Dr. James H. Chenevert teaches first and second year music theory and aural skills, counterpoint, form and analysis, arranging, music theory pedagogy, and composition at Texas Women's University. He previously served as Chair of TWU's Department of Music & Drama and taught at Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI, and served as its Music Department Chair. His dissertation research comprised a translation and commentary on Simon Sechter's treatise: Die grundsätze der musikalischen Komposition (The Principles of Musical Composition) of 1853-54. He serves as a visiting evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Music. Other professional associations include the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers (charter member), the College Music Society, and the Society for Music Theory. Dr. Chenevert has composed works for piano, guitar, voice, chorus, chamber ensembles, and electronic instruments. He holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's in Music Theory from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Doctorate in Music Theory from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jason Danielson The Des Moines Alumnae Chapter initiated Jason Danielson in May. A high school social studies teacher, he's also an active jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and musical director. He is Danielson involved locally with Fred Gazzo's Metropolitan Band, Dave Rezek's Alpha State Agents, the Des Moines Big Band, Tony Valdez Large Band, and Scott Davis Quartet. Of the six albums on which Danielson has played, he was also musical director and arranger for two. He has performed with touring Broadway shows, conducted high school musicals, and been a jazz piano and combo instructor, festival judge, and guest artist throughout Iowa. Pursuing his Master's Degree in History, Danielson's thesis is a political and social interpretation of the music of the civil rights movement. Patricia Morgan Davis Mezzo-Soprano Morgan Davis, initiated by the Lambda Iota Chapter in May, is a performer, educator, and voice teacher in the Orlando area. She continues the exploration of opera, music theatre, and art song repertoire and was most recently seen playing the role of Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterly with the Orlando Philharmonic. Active Davis in many performing arenas in Central Florida, she performs with The Orlando Philharmonic, Florida Opera Theatre, and The Bach Festival of Winter Park. Morgan Davis holds a Bachelor's Degree from Elon University and a Master's Degree from The Boston Conservatory. She is an associate member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and is on the voice faculty at Rollins College and Valencia College. In addition to her collegiate teaching, Morgan Davis runs a growing private studio in Winter Springs, FL, where she specializes in teaching classical and musical theatre to students of all ages. She is also a licensed Kindermusik educator. Don F Dagenais . Don F. Dagenais was initiated by the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter in February. Dagenais is known throughout the midwest as a devotee of the arts, especially opera. He speaks to numerous arts groups about Kansas City Lyric Opera productions and arranges trips to other opera venues in this country and around the world. Dagenais serves on many arts and community boards. He is past president of Opera Volunteers International, representing over 10,000 volunteers in four countries. He is a graduate of Grinnell College and Cornell University Law School. In his professional life, he is a leading real estate attorney with Lathrop and Gage Law Firm. His articles have been published in national legal publications. Robin Ray Engl Robin Ray Engl was initiated by the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter in May. He has enjoyed a long career as a high school band director with special interest in jazz ensemble. His ensembles at Wauwatsoa East High School participated in the Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Ensemble Competition, with one group named as a finalist in 2010. His bands have traveled to London, Paris, and Scotland. The Tosa East High Marching Band has participated for several years in the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Milwaukee Holiday Parade.
